Happy Belated B-day to me...

Last Saturday was my birthday, and it was such a great day! I am so blessed to have such great people in my life.
I haven't got to the age where I don't enjoy birthdays yet. I L.O.V.E. birthdays! And not just for the presents (although I love those too), I just like having one day where I get to be recognized. It's fun, and it's the only day of the year that it happens! :)
So my day started out with breakfast with my girls! Heather and Crystal and I have started having breakfast together (usually during the week with our kiddos) about once a month. We have so much fun going to each other's homes and letting our kids play, but Saturday we decided that it would just be the mommies. We met at 8:30 at a little bakery that serves breakfast and lunch. It was so fun to just have adult conversation, laugh, and be silly! They even put a candle in my breakfast sandwich to blow out! I love those girls!!!
Then from there, we stopped at my favorite nursery, Country Comfort. I get my flowers here every year, and I wanted to drop off some pots for Sonya to fill with beautiful plants and flowers for me. It is such a neat place to go with kids usually too because she has a large wooden train that the kids can play on, kitties, puppies, chickens, and rabbits to hold and play with. Not today, though! :)
I had to be home by 10:30 because a high school girl that is in our youth group wanted me to help do her hair for prom that night. YIKES! Talk about pressure, and I had never done that before. It ended up looking beautiful, with the help of an entire can of hair spray!
At 1:30 Ethan had his first baseball game in the Rookie League. He was so incredibly excited! This league plays three innings, and everyone bats. Ethan had three great hits and was totally in his element!

Then it was really time to celebrate! A date with my hubby! My mom and dad babysat for the kiddos, while Roger and I dolled ourselves up for an evening away.

We decided that this night deserved a little more fun than usual, so we took my parents convertible. Roger and I were having our own prom, I guess!

Dinner was at Kelly J's in downtown Goshen. They serve tapas, which are basically appetizer size portions. We ordered an appetizer (bruscetta), each of us a salad (lettuce salad & noodle salad), and then two entrees (crab cakes & coconut shrimp), with a side of asparagus. Then dessert (apple tart, white chocolate/raspberry gelato)! We were so full! That's definitely a place to go back, but only for very special occasions. It got kind of pricey!

We wanted to go see a movie, but we didn't decide what to see until we got there. Roger wanted to see Knowing with Nicholas Cage, and I wanted to see something else, but I didn't have a favorite. I agreed to see Knowing, because Roger seemed to think it looked really good.

I

beg

to

differ!!!
That movie could be one of my least favorite movies of ALL time. I couldn't decide while watching it, if it was a horror...a suspense...a religious movie...a science fiction movie? Then what we thought were aliens throughout the movie, were actually angels!
WEIRD.

DON'T SEE IT.

Anyway, it was a great day, that ended with a great date. And really that is all that I wanted. Time with my hubby. We get so busy with our kids lives, and church, and everything else, that we don't take enough time to be together!

So...
We are going out again Saturday night!

Can't wait!
