OH? I have a blog?

You got it! My blog has been playing second fiddle in my life lately. Actually, make that 4th or 5th fiddle. It surprises me that only having one at home now is actually much more difficult than having all three at home!

It also surprises me that I have lived in this house 3 months, count 'em, and I still do not have a yard or anything planted in our landscaping! I keep telling myself, that we don't have to rush because we will be living here for a very long time, but I needed something. I needed to feel like I was moving in that general direction.

So last week, I began the process of raking up the many, many, MANY stones and weeds that conveniently were growing where my flower beds and landscaping are supposed to be. I just couldn't take it anymore!

Then, I visited our landscapers website, and realized that a few of the trees that we have in our landscape plan were 50% off this week! I L.O.V.E. a bargain, so Monday night we got Dad's trailer and brought home 3 Red Maple trees, 1 Blue Spruce, 1 Weeping Cherry Tree, and 3 Hydrangeas. Please don't ask if they are planted yet, because they aren't.

BUT...

We did start burying our boulders in our landscaping. Before you ask, when you put big rocks/boulders in your landscaping, you are supposed to bury about 1/3 of it. Now frankly, I really don't know why. Those rocks are not moving. They really didn't even want the Bobcat to move them. They really liked where they were!

We made the whole evening, last night, a family affair. The kids loved every minute of it! They got to walk in the nice, cool, dug up earth, use shovels, watch their daddy use the Bobcat, and overall just get messy!

Five boulders were buried last night, and today we marked about 8 more places for some more! I figure, we have the rocks, why not use them? It will just take the place of an expensive bush/tree in my landscaping. So really I am saving money. :)

WOW! Now I don't feel so bad about how dirty Addison's feet got at my house tonight. :)

Lookin' good ... and when you're finished you will be so proud of all the work that you did yourselves! Just one question - if you bury rocks will they grow just like plants? tee hee
