A good read

I just finished up with my latest novel, Tsar by Ted Bell. Really good if you like action/thriller/political drama. I like lots of genres of books and am ready to start something new. Now it is up to my readers. HELP! I need a new book and would love to hear from all of you readers out there about what I should read next. So please leave me a comment with the author, title, and why I should read this book! Don't be afraid to comment, this is serious! :)

Three Cups of Tea by Mortensen(?) Great inspirational true story! I love those kind. This is maybe a slow read, but it truly is inspiring in the midst of the state of our world today. I think the teacher in you would enjoy it. Basically it says that if we teach girls to read in war-torn country, that is the way to peace. I believe it, after reading this story!

Maybe after this book you could read Dracula, or some other "vampirish" book. :) In recognition of the guests that you have in the lake cabin.

I don't know who you are, but linked to you from Stacey's blog. Since I know how great comments are and since I love to read, I thought I would give you a suggestion.

"A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini is really well written. It is a great follow up to Three Cups of Tea which is wonderful too. Although "A Thousand Splendid Suns" is fictional, the settting and history are true. It is not a very happy book, but gives you a better understanding of what life is like in Afghanistan. He also wrote "The Kite Runner", which I like too, but this one I thought was better because it was from a woman's perspective. Hope you haven't already read it. :)

Okay, now I'm on a mission to find you a good book :)

Liz Curtis Higgs has written a really great series that starts with the book "Thorn In My Heart".

The series is a retelling of the Bible story of Leah, Rachel, and Jacob set in 16th century Scotland. Once you get past the Scottish lingo, you will get sucked in to the characters and story - and not get anything else done. :)

I love biographies, and the Elizabeth Smart biography was great (she is the girl that was kidnapped out of her bedroom, and returned to her family after about 5 months later).
