Field Trip to JoJo's

On Monday, Ethan's Kindergarten class went on a field trip to Shipshewana. When I first brought up the idea of me going along as a chaperone, he didn't think that was such a great idea. In fact, I think his exact words were...

"WHY?"

I told him that sometimes moms go along with the class to help the teacher and that I thought it would be fun to be with him during the school day. Especially since I haven't been able to be in his class nearly as much as I would like to be because of the building project. And how does he respond...

"I guess you can go....this time."

So of course I went. I wasn't going to miss a chance to go to JoJo's. How fun!

Before JoJo's we went to the store, Simple Sounds. They got to see a lot of different kinds of instruments, and then later they all got a kazoo.

Then off to the carousel. We got up there (via the elevator because the boys thought it would be so cool) and it didn't open until 10:30. Oops! So back down the elevator and on to JoJo's. We heard a little bit of history of the pretzel, and then got to make our own! Ethan and his friend D. rolled out their pretzels, made a U shape, crossed the ends, then twisted them. They did a great job. You have to roll out the dough really thin, or it will get too doughy when it is baked. They were so good! Ethan had so much fun, and his friend D. was a little cutie, very polite.

Back to the carousel...This time the whole class got to ride. They all loved it!
We actually go to Shipshewana quite often, but it was neat to go with Ethan's class, and learn a little bit more about his friends that he is around every day. It was fun too because his teacher is a very good friend of mine. We taught together and we still scrapbook together every summer! Ethan thinks he has an in with her...

I'm glad you got to go with Ethan on his field trip! I'm sure he was real proud to have his beautiful Momma along on the trip to JoJo's! Wow! How much fun was that?!

That's sounds like a hoot. I loved how you put Ethan's reactions down in writting. :)

Love the new look on the blog. Very classy.
