I can now wear his shoes too. Roger took him to get new tennis shoes last night and he got size 5.5. Yikes! Size 5.5 =Women's size 7.5(ish). I wear an 8, so yeah. Freaky.
Last night, my friend Crystal, her daughter Carah, myself, and Jadyn drove 1 1/2 hours to see the Diana exhibit at the Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM). I had been wanting to go all winter, but all of our weekends quickly filled up, and since I am working, I felt like going up during the week was nuts.

Crystal & I
I remember when Diana got married. I watched it on TV with my mom. I followed her in the news and admired her, her style, and her life.
When she died, it was devastating. Not like I was her biggest fan, but she was definitely someone that I looked up to. I remember that we were at my parents lake house when we heard. It was so sad. And the funeral...
I couldn't believe that it was actually happening. It was so emotional for me. I was glued to the TV watching anything and everything about the accident and the funeral.
The exhibit that Crystal, the girls, and I went to last night, portrayed the beautiful woman that she truly was. We got to see her wedding dress with her 25 foot train as if she was standing right in front of us. There were about 20 some dresses that she wore throughout her time in the public eye, including her outfit that she wore while visiting the land mine areas.
I could not believe how skinny she was. And so tall!
I think what got to me the most was the eulogy that her brother wrote. We saw his rough draft along with the changes that he made. When he spoke directly to William and Harry, it tore at my heart. How awful to lose your mother at such a young age! Any age is awful to lose your mother, but it just hit home for me.
Jadyn & Carah
The last room that we went through was filled with bound leather books. I thought, at first, that maybe they were just books from Diana's home. But when I looked closer, I realized that all of these books were condolence books. From all over the world! She touched so many lives, as was evident by these books.
Last night gave me a chance to explain to Jadyn what Diana meant to everyone. Jadyn made the comment to me, "So if Princess Diana was a princess in England, than why did we like her so much?"
Where to even begin...
What would you say?
