This is our first Christmas in our home, and it has been exciting to decorate for the first time.

So come on in, take your coat and shoes off, and stay a while...

Between our Great Room and Kitchen you pass my Butler's Pantry. I set out this church from one of my villages that I collect. I love how the stained glass glows at night!

You will also pass by our Powder Room. I found this really cute soap dispenser with blue crystals on snowflakes. I love it! And then there were a few hand towels to match.

The family room, where most of our family time occurs.

I got this great tree from my mom, and then had been admiring these ornaments at Target. They went on sale a few weeks ago, and I snagged them up. Love them!

One of my favorite snowmen! A lady from our church makes these with old sweaters and buttons that she finds at Goodwill!

I love to set him out every year.

This has got to be my favorites. I call him my elfish Santa. He is just so stinking cute and his beard is just so soft.

Off of our family room we have a second entrance for our back door guests. You know what they say!!! So those special guests deserve a decorated entrance as well!

I placed my card tree on the door going out to the garage. Not sure if I will do this again, my family gets a little agressive shutting the door sometimes, and the cards go flying!

Sneak Peek #2

Today you are invited to Addison's Room.

With our oldest daughter, Jadyn, I never pushed the girlie side. She rarely wore pink, instead lots of purples and teals.

Addison is a whole new story.

*

Even her baby room was covered in pink. Of course her walls then were chocolate color, but lots of pink nonetheless.

At our new home, I wanted the lightest pink possible for paint. And wouldn't you know it, I found a color called "Possibly Pink."

*

I knew I wanted white furniture for her, so everything just went from there.

I found an old blanket at an antique store that I lay across the foot of her bed. I love it! It's a pretty pink with a white pattern on it. Her sheets are Shabby Chic from Target, as well as her curtains, which I brought from our old house. I have had to repurpose one of her curtains, and that is not finished yet. It has to be changed from a vertical curtain to a horizontal. In time...

Then last week at Target, the pillow that goes with Addison's bedding was on sale, so that also sits on her bed.

This glider rocker, was a gift from my grandma at our wedding. I have rocked all of my kids to sleep in it, and when I was pregnant with Addison I had it recovered in this nice green fabric. Not sure where it will go now, because Addison is kind of done with rocking.

This sheer panel usually would just hang, but I wanted Addison to be able to see out of the window when she wanted. Her other window is too high for her to see out of, so this is it for her. I had a lot of pink ribbon, so we used that to tie it back.


Her bathroom continues the pink/brown theme. But I added a cute monkey picture that matched. She is a little monkey, so why not?

I love her room. It's as girlie as I get.

A sneak peek

Since we have moved, I am finally getting to the point where I feel more settled, and ready to share a few posts about what our house looks like when lived in.

When we were building, I decided to go with pretty neutral colors for paint in the main part of the house and our bedroom, and then use more color with pictures, accessories, pillows, etc...

Today I am letting you visit our Master Bedroom. This last week, I decided it was time to put some pictures up, and I didn't want to wait on my hubby. When I want it done, I want it done. Ya know? I had bought these prints and frames a few years ago at IKEA, and just never used them. So when I found some really cool pillows last week at Pier 1 and Target, I decided the pictures fit perfectly in our bedroom.

These are my really cool pillows, LOVE them.

I love this fake plant for a nice burst of green in the room.

Wa-lah!

I am really happy with it now.

New News

Still no pictures because I still cannot find my camera cord since we moved...

grrr....

But here are a few things happening in our lives right now:

• Jadyn has begun her softball practices with games beginning on May 2, my b-day. She loves it so much and has moved up to the Minor League where the girls actually pitch!
• Jadyn also had her piano recital on Sunday. She played a song from Les Miserables, and it was absolutely gorgeous! She has a real gift on the piano.
• Ethan has started playing in the Rookie Baseball League. He is a good little player, and can't wait for games to start.
• Ethan and Jadyn rode the bus for the first time this year, yesterday. With us living at Mom and Dad's, they can ride both ways, but for now they are only riding it home. They did just fine, but the bus actually dropped them off much earlier than I expected, so they had a little bit of walking to do! :)
• Addison split open her lip yesterday. She leaned onto a toy and it was heavy enough that the top came back hitting her right in the face. It didn't look like it had hit her very hard, but it must have hit her just right. OUCH!!!
• Then today, we were at Dave & Cindy's getting ready for garage sale, when Addison began trying to love on their cat. The cat wanted nothing to do with her, so took a good swipe at her, scratching her cheek.
• She looks quite a sight, fat lip and kitty cat scratches on her face!
• Addison has learned to talk so much and we have to laugh at some of the things that she says!
• The house is still not done, not sure when it will be. But this week they are going to install the kitchen countertops. And if it ever stops raining, they will continue to move dirt and pour concrete!

That's our life in a nutshell right now! We can't wait to move, but are so blessed to have so many loving family members in our lives, allowing us to invade their territories!

I absolutely cannot wait to greet you from our front door! That means two things. I can't wait to MOVE IN! And I can't wait to have guests! So please come see us!

My laundry room! I love the color! Not everyone loves green, but I am crazy about these cabinets!

I hope you are all having a great day! Please keep a family that we know in your prayers. The husband passed away very suddenly while away on business. So it was a shock for everyone! He was a very neat guy, he actually played piano at our wedding. Thanks!

My kitchen...

What a difference a day makes! I went back to see the house yesterday, and this is what I saw!
(These were taken on Tuesday, so the kitchen is now completely installed, YEAH!)






And I had to add it. She's just too sweet!

The neverending saga...our house

Finally, our computer isn't as slow as a turtle, and I can upload a few pictures! Here is what is new with the house...

• The drywallers finished last week


• Painting began last week and should be finishing up today.


• Hard surfaces (tile and wood floor) will be starting tomorrow and into next week.


• Our cabinets will be installed late next week or the week after.


• The exterior stone is being worked on, and looks fabulous! I love it!


• We are meeting with the landscaper next week to talk about our driveway and parking area.
  

This is the main color throughout the house. It's is a nice brown that goes with a lot, I think. Ethan's room is also this color.

This is the master bedroom looking into the master bath. The paint in the bathroom is a gold color.
Addison's room...Possibly Pink (so very pale)
And Jadyn's room...Blue Splash. It freaks me out, but she loves it! Once we get her furniture in there, which is white, it will look really good. I keep telling myself that.

Can't wait! We will hopefully be moving in April or early May. We will see...
