Palm Springs ~ Saturday

Last night got late, so here is what we did yesterday. The babe woke up extra early because of the 3 hour time difference, so we played with her for a while until she zonked out on my chest around 4:30 AM! Of course the other two were up early as well, ready for the beautiful day to begin. We needed to get a few more groceries, so the whole fam loaded up the minivan (we pretend it's a convertible, it makes us feel much cooler) and took off for Ralph's to get some much needed groceries. We were also looking for some sort of flotation device for Addison and of course they didn't have anything. So we were off again, without a map looking for some sort of store that might have a floaty thing. Finally, we found a Walgreens where a very helpful clerk told us where to locate a pool store. And lo and behold we found it and the exact floaty thing we wanted. In the meantime, Addison let us know exactly how mad she can get. It was a tantrum for the books. She was so tired and ticked that she had to sit in her big girl carseat that she turned all splotchy and red from crying and fighting the carseat. And guess what, the carseat won until Mommy couldn't take it anymore.

After we got all of our necessities from Ralph's and the pool store, we headed back to the resort for some much needed swimming. I stayed back at the condo with Sleepy Pants and Roger took Jadyn & Ethan to the pool for a few hours of late morning swimming. I sat out on the deck watching the golfers tee off on hole 15 and catching up on some reading, and catching some rays. The wet kids and Roger returned later and ate lunch. Then it was time for us to go back to the pool and swim some more. This time Addison joined in. After some initial shivering, she floated around like a pro. She absolutely loved the water and splashing around! The big kids were enjoying doing cannonballs and any other new tricks they learned.

It was time to get ready for the evening and we chose the ever present and safe choice Applebee's for our meal of choice. It actually was very good. By the time we left, though, there was a sandstorm blowing it's way through. It reminded me of the movie, The Holiday, when the Santa Anna's were blowing through. (You need to see the movie, it's great!)

And that was our day. We went back to the Condo and played around for a while. We had a rousing competition of who can create the best straw art. We will let you be the judge.

Oh, and Addison waved for the first time tonight at Applebee's to some stranger! It was pretty cool to watch her little flimsy wrist do the princess wave!

Jadyn & Ethan both agree that swimming was the best part of the day yesterday.

Yeah, she likes it! She was discovering the mirror on the wall and her reflection.

Oh my gosh! Roger & Ethan's design looks more a pair of sunglasses for the lizard man they think is roaming thru the woods of North Carolina....and Jadyn's looks a lot like the praying mantis that was flying & running around our table at our dinner last night at the Canoe House......I love them both! They both win!
I love the pictures and the daily updates....how cool! Addison makes me laugh! Swimming is going to be the highlight of the kids' trip, so I would say don't spend too much time or money doing other attractions that they won't remember! Lesson learned at DisneyWorld! Love you all ~
