Friday...in Sydney
Our day began with a wonderful breakfast at our hotel. As we were eating, we were able to see the rest of the Jayco group arrive from the airport. It was funny because we would be sitting there watching and waving to a whole bunch of people streaming in, and then there would be a pause. Then a minute later, another large group would make their way in. This went on for about a half hour until everyone arrived.
Mom, Dad, Derald, Grandma, Roger and I took off from the hotel around noon and found our way to the harbor. Along the waterfront, there are a lot of street performers. For example, we saw some Aboriginal people playing their didgeridoo (?). Then there was a man dressed entirely in green like a guy in the Army, taking pictures with people. You never know what you will encounter.

Derald had been here in December and had gone into a bar called -5. It is actually a bar made completely out of ice. So...we went there. You have to wear one of their parkas, gloves, and boots if you are wearing sandals. The walls, seats, tables, cups are all made entirely out of ice. You get a complimentary drink and then you get to hang out in there for 30 minutes. We didn't even last in there, it was 13 degrees, and I think we lasted 15 minutes! It was awesome though. Of course you can't take your own pictures, but you can buy the pictures they take of you.
We browsed through shops along the way to the Opera House, and then walked completely around the Opera House. It is such an amazing structure. I took a lot of pictures hoping to relay the beauty to all of you. By the time we went around the large structure, the others were getting hungry, so they ventured back to the hotel. We ate breakfast so late, that Roger and I really were not hungry for lunch. So we skipped that, and opted for a small snack. Then we kept on walking and entered into the Botanical Gardens. This area of Sydney is so large and beautiful. There were some trees in there that I have never seen in my life. And some of their trunks were as large as about four tables put together! They were huge!
There are only so many exits and entrances to this park area, so after walking for around an hour, we finally found an exit in the Palace Gardens. There were these two cute American old ladies that we saw walking around too and they couldn't find a way out, so I think they may have followed us because apparently we looked like we knew what we were doing.
On the walk back to the hotel, we stopped by the Museom of Sydney. It was just a small, 3 story building, but we thought it could be interesting. Yeah, it wasn't. Pretty small, pretty boring. Oh well.
Dinner last night was with the entire group of Jayco people. The Snake Gully Bush Band was our entertainment. They were funny guys and had a great sense of humor. In fact, one of the members owns a Jayco!
After dinner, the young ones (I am including Roger and I) decided the night was still young, so we ventured across the street to Jackson's on George, a four story nightclub. There was a very large group of us so we had fun, but I am so glad that that is not my life. Fun for a time, but then no more.
So that was our day! I will update tomorrow hopefully!
